What is Chai AI?

Chai AI is an artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot platform that is often used for roleplay, story and character-driven chats. It is uncensored and allows for all types of conversations, including content with sexual and violent themes. This content may appear unexpectedly or unprompted during chats.

Users can chat with bots made by others or create their own custom bots (without needing any coding skills). When you tap an existing bot created by another user, it will usually send a starting prompt or message. You can reply to this prompt, and the AI will then continue the story based on your responses – allowing you to 'play along'.

When creating a bot, users can choose to make it public or private. Users can also create the first message their bot uses to start a chat.

During chats, users can adjust how the bot responds. For example, if the bot takes the chat in a direction you don’t like, you can use the ‘instruction’ feature to update things like the characters’ personalities or genders, or adjust the tone or storyline. You can also edit the bot’s messages yourself or ask it to generate you a new one. In some cases, bots may send messages while you are offline, such as asking you to return and chat with them.

Chai AI has an image generation feature, where the user provides a prompt and the AI creates an image based on it.

Chai AI includes social features, like following and messaging other users, viewing public bots created by others, and reporting users if needed.

Chai AI is a paid service and offers a free trial.
