What is Nomi.AI?

Nomi.AI is an artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot companion platform. The AI companions on Nomi.AI are called ‘Nomis’. When creating an account, users provide their name, age and gender. Nomi.AI allows for all types of conversations, including content with sexual and violent themes.

Users can select their Nomi’s gender, with options of male, female or non-binary. They can then name their Nomi and choose what kind of relationship they want – options include friendship, romantic, mentor or custom. Users can also select key traits for their Nomi, such as affectionate, confident, flirty and shy. These key traits cannot be changed after creation, but can be built on or developed upon over time.

Users can also create a backstory for their Nomi and choose what it looks like. Appearances are selected from a gallery with ready-made AI-generated avatars, with options for either a ‘realistic’ or ‘anime’ style character.

Users can talk with their Nomi through text or voice chat. They can also ask their Nomi to send ‘real-time’ selfies (where the Nomi sends an image of what they are wearing or doing) and share links or photos for the Nomi to comment on or discuss. Users can create multiple Nomis and add them into group chats together to see them interact with each other. Some of these features are only available with a paid plan.

There is a feature called ‘proactive Nomi messages’. If users turn this on, their Nomi may stay active even when they are not chatting. For example, while the user is away, their Nomi might ‘carry out an activity’ and then send a message about what it did.

Nomi.AI has both free and paid plans.
