What is Omegle.life?

Omegle.life is a free online chat service that allows you to talk with strangers via text and video chat. Similar to the original Omegle platform, you can engage in anonymous one-on-one text and video chats with people who are selected randomly from around the world. You don’t need to register to begin chatting and you can also join themed video and text chats to connect with like-minded people.

The video functionality of Omegle.life uses peer-to-peer technology that requires a user’s IP address, which can reveal their location. Many of the chats are unmoderated and contain nudity, pornography and sexually explicit content. Omegle.life does not verify the age of users and includes advertising.

Omegle.life is available via its website and downloadable web apps but is not available via the Google Play Store or Apple App Store, meaning it does not have to abide by their terms and conditions.

Platforms like OmegleMe!, Omegle.life and OmeTV are part of a growing number of imitation sites based on the original Omegle.

About The eSafety Guide

The eSafety Guide helps you find out how to protect your personal information and report harmful content on common social media, games, apps and sites. Entries are for information only and are not reviews or endorsements by eSafety. Before choosing to use any online service or platform it’s best to:

  • do your own research to understand the risks and benefits
  • check the age rating and requirements
  • consider privacy
  • check the permissions and other settings
  • check the in-app reporting options.

If you are a parent or carer who is deciding whether a child should be allowed to use an online service or platform, you can also:

  • consider your child's readiness for the types of content and experiences they might encounter
  • help them understand what to do if they need help
  • provide ongoing support and monitoring, for example through regular check-ins with your child
  • agree to some rules about use of each service or platform.
