What is Seesaw?

Seesaw is an online remote learning and communication platform designed for teachers, students and parents. It allows students to engage with course material by having them submit creative content to the platform and build their own digital portfolio. The portfolio can span an entire school career and helps students learn how to use technology and reflect on their achievements. Seesaw Learning Inc. makes two apps, Seesaw Class and Seesaw Parent and Family, which are designed to be used together.

Seesaw Class allows students to stay on top of assignments, posts drawings, notes and photos, view activities and announcements from their teacher, publish blogs and comment on their own work. Students cannot see each other’s work unless they tag one another in projects to collaborate. Teachers also have exclusive features like private notetaking, managing assessments and student progress monitoring.

Seesaw Parent and Family allows families to view their child’s work, leave voice or text messages for their child, receive class announcements and exchange private messages with teachers. They can also receive alerts when their child posts new content and save their child’s work to their personal device.

Seesaw products are free for students, teachers and parents, and there is no advertising shown on the platform.

Platforms: The Seesaw Class and Family apps are available on iOS, Android, and Kindle Fire devices. You can also use Seesaw on the web using a computer or Chromebook via a Chrome, Firefox, or Edge browser.
