What is Lemon8?

Lemon8 is a video and photo-sharing social media app similar to Instagram. Like Instagram, it lets you share posts with photos, videos, captions and product tags across categories such as fashion, beauty, travel, food and wellness. You can also like and comment on other people’s posts, share links and send direct messages to other users.  

Lemon8 recommends content based on your interests. It also includes content-making tools that allow you to generate text and edit photos and video within the app. Lemon8 states that it uses moderation tools to delete content that does not align with its community guidelines, including content that promotes violent extremism and self-harm.

Lemon8 is developed by ByteDance, the creators of TikTok, and is available in a number of languages other than English, including Japanese, Indonesian and Thai. You can also link your TikTok account to your Lemon8 account. Lemon8 features advertising, which is managed through TikTok’s Ads Manager, sponsored content and recommended product links.
