How we celebrate Safer Internet Day

SID2020 is encouraging Australians to ‘start the chat’ about online safety. The first step to a better internet is to talk about the potential risks and ways to avoid them. Help create the internet you want to see by starting conversations about online safety with someone you care about. Check out eSafety’s practical tips, to get the conversation going.

In 2019, a record 500+ schools, not for profit organisations and businesses helped us spread critical online safety skills to over 10 million Australians. Together we promoted the ‘4Rs of the digital age’: Respect, Responsibility, Reasoning and Resilience. Check out the highlights here: Safer Internet Day 2019.

About Safer Internet Day

Safer Internet Day is a worldwide event that raises awareness about online safety and encourages individuals and the community to create a better internet for everyone. Celebrated globally in 150 countries, Safer Internet Day is coordinated by the joint Insafe/INHOPE network, with the support of the European Commission, and national Safer Internet Centres across Europe.

In Australia, the eSafety Commissioner (eSafety) is the Official Committee responsible for managing and promoting Safer Internet Day.
